Sloppy Joe Recipe

They might be messy, but they are so good.

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp. Olive Oil

1/2 Cup Carrots, minced

1/2 Cup Celery, chopped

1 Cup Onion, chopped

2 Garlic Cloves, minced

Salt

1 1/4 lb. Ground Beef

2 Cups Tomato Sauce

1 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce

1/2 Cup Ketchup

1 Tbsp. Red Wine Vinegar

2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar

Pinch Cayenne Pepper

1/2 tsp. Dried Thyme

2 turns of Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Pinch Ground Cloves

4 Hamburger Buns

Directions:

Heat the olive oil on medium high heat.  Sauté the carrots for 5 minutes.  Then add the celery and onion, and stir occasionally for 5 more minutes.  Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.  Then remove from the heat, and move the vegetables to a bowl.

Salt the bottom of the pan, and heat on high.  Crumble the ground beef into the pan, and let it cook until it’s browned on one side, then flip them over and brown the other side.  Remove the beef, and put in the bowl with the vegetables.

Strain off all but 1 Tbsp. of fat.

Return the beef and vegetables to the pan.  Add the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, vinegar, and brown sugar to the pan.  Mix well, and add the cayenne pepper, thyme, pepper, and cloves.  Lower the heat to medium low, and let simmer for 10 minutes.

Serve with toasted hamburger buns and plenty of napkins.

And Enjoy!
