Italian Burger Recipe


With Italian seasoning this turkey burger is molto bene!


Ingredients:

Cooking spray

4 Cups Red Bell Pepper, strips

2 Cups Green Bell Pepper, strips

2 Cups Onion, vertically sliced

1 1/2 Cups Italian Herb Pasta Sauce

12 oz. Hot Turkey Italian Sausage, remove casings

12 oz. Ground Turkey Breast

6  (2 oz.) Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns

3/4 Cup Sharp Provolone Cheese, shredded


Preheat the grill


Directions:

Coat a large nonstick skillet, with cooking spray, and heat over medium-high heat.  Sauté the onion and peppers for 10 minutes.  Add the pasta sauce and cook for another minute.  Keep warm.


In a large bowl, combine the turkey and sausage and mold into 6 patties.


Grill the patties for 4 minutes on each side.  Top each burger with 2/3 of a cup of pepper mixture, 2 Tbsp. of cheese, and the top of the burger bun.
